The Minnesota ABE Impact Report

At the August Summer Intensive Training, Literacy Minnesota and the ABE Office of the Minnesota Department of Education launched the "Minnesota ABE Impact Report."  ABE providers can use this new resource to inform legislators and the general public about the important effects of ABE in many areas. 

 

The report is divided into seven sections: Employment and Earnings, Poverty and Welfare, Transition to Higher Education, Children and Families, New Americans, Corrections, and Health. Each section addresses current realities as well as ways that ABE programs are making positive impacts.  Learner success stories and examples of organizational partnerships further illustrate the benefits of ABE in Minnesota.

 

Current ABE participation statistics and information on future challenges are inserted in the report and will be updated annually.  Local program information can also be inserted into a template that will soon be available.
